A Brief History
Hetronic started in 1982 as Heckl Electronics and the same year produced its first radio remote, the GR. In the late 1980’s Heckl Electronic became Hetronic Steuersysteme GmbH and introduced the GL transmitter with SMD technology and receiving the TÜV approval for highest safety.
In the decade following, Hetronic Steuersysteme released the TG, HH, Ergo, Nova and GL-3 transmitters and introduced standard systems for tower cranes. In 1993 Hetronic Steuersysteme became ISO 9001 certified and produced its 25,000th radio remote control and by the end of the decade, Hetronic’s production capacity exceeded 20,000 systems per year. Hetronic USA incorporated in Oklahoma City, USA in 1993 and became Hetronic International headquarters. Hetronic continued expanding internationally and incorporated in Mosta, Malta, Quito, Ecuador, Brisbane, Japan and Australia by the end of 1999. At the end of the century Hetronic Steursysteme identified new emerging market applications and developed an explosion proof line of radio remote controls and received its PTB approval.
From 2000 through 2011 saw significant growth and change for Hetronic. Hetronic International incorporated in Oklahoma City in 2000 and continued its global expansion into the South American and European markets while also incorporating both Hetronic Canada and Hetronic Asia in 2002. As Hetronic entered new markets the product line expanded with development and introduction of new transmitter families including the NOVA group, Pocket MFS system and MFSHL series. Hetronic was acquired by Methode Electronics in 2008 and develop technology to provide Radio Remote Control solutions to meet new market and customer requirements.
